I've worked as a therapist for over twenty-five years, working with individuals, couples and groups.  I am a licensed mental health counselor, with a Master's in Psychology and a postgraduate certificate in Gestalt Therapy. My work is also informed by a variety of humanistic approaches to supporting change.

If you are considering therapy, you may be wondering if it's right for you. The decision to enter counseling comes about in many different ways.

Some people seek support because they are experiencing a great deal of distress. Others have come to a place in their lives where they know things need to change. Sometimes people come because they want to grow, or because they need support to move in a new direction.

I view therapy as making a commitment to yourself. It’s a way of valuing yourself and taking positive steps towards what you want. While your work in therapy may have a specific focus, it will often be the case that the changes you make will enhance and enliven many other areas of your life.

Some of the reasons people enter therapy with me include:

  • Wanting to break out of limiting patterns
  • Feeling anxious
  • Facing significant stress
  • Finding yourself often feeling down, sad or angry
  • Coping with the loss of a loved one, or going through a divorce
  • Feeling alienated in an intimate relationship
  • Struggling with a transition or new phase of life
  • Trying to get motivated to make a positive change
  • Dealing with difficult relationships at work
  • Facing questions about your career
  • Experiencing self-doubt or not feeling good about yourself
  • Looking for greater satisfaction and meaning in life
